My parents exuded style and love for music. My mother worked and was a full-time mom and wife by day; at night, she designed formal gowns as her creative outlet. Those talents transcended to her daughters. She was the ultimate creative. She let me dress myself and have full creative reign; except for Sundays or major gatherings. My sister designed my Cabbage Patch and Barbie clothes. Creating is nostalgic; It calms my spirit and brings me peace. It has become a way to bond with the community, tell a unique story and spread love.
Élan House's roots live in its name. "Élan" is synonymous with elegance, urbanity, and finesse that defines floral artist, Shannon Hill. "House" from the family name of her mother and inspirer-in-chief who created fearless and innovative floral, bridal and formal gowns. With a healthy dose of chutzpah in her DNA, Shannon brings fresh thinking and storytelling complemented by her love of color and texture to each one-of-a-kind design.
Shannon's ideas are sparked by the energy of a bustling city, great music, her career in the PR and digital advertising industry and traveling the world.

Where do you get your flowers?We work with a handful of local wholesalers and importers, as well as a selection of local women-owned flower farms.

How long will my flowers last? What can I do to help them last longer?The best way to care for your flowers is to keep them in fresh, cool water away from direct sunlight or heat. We've done a few experiments to see what keeps flowers fresh, and time after time, replacing vase water daily is the trick that keeps our flowers looking cute the longest. Certain varieties of flowers last longer than others, but with proper care, our cut flowers and arrangements can last 5-7 days!

Can I order a dozen roses? Or an arrangement of peonies?Élan House florists create bouquets and arrangements in our signature "bold, free-flowing style," using a fun variety of the best seasonal flowers available. Using a wide range of flowers lets our florists go wild and create fresh, one-of-a-kind arrangements.

What are your hours?Our studio hours are Thursday - Saturday. We're available by appointment only.

What's the stem bar?Our unique pop-up in-studio experience once a month allows our customers to pick exactly what flowers they want. Flowers are sold per stem. Pick out your favorites, and we will wrap them for you to take home! If you’d prefer your stem bar selection to be arranged by one of our designers, you’re welcome to order a custom bouquet.

Do you offer a Daily Flower Menu?No, but we offer custom flower bouquets wrapped in paper and flower arrangements year round; you'll notice changes in our designs each order as flower varieties come in and out of season. We also create special holiday flower menus for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day to help you find the most beautiful flowers of the season to celebrate special occasions. Some of our favorite seasonal flowers, like Peonies and Lilac, are only around for a few weeks each year.

Do you do flower subscriptions?Yes! You can sign up for a recurring flower subscription bi-weekly or monthly. We may be biased, but we think a flower subscription may be the best gift you can give - or sign yourself up for weekly flowers to brighten your home or office.

Are there any perks to your flower subscription services?Our flower subscriptions makes it easy to receive beautiful flowers on the reg at a discount! We offer convenient pickup options, and subscribers enjoy 10% off ALL their Élan House purchases, including additional flowers or gift merchandise purchases. Plus, you're the first to know about any special events or promotions we're planning!

How can I make changes to my subscription?To skip your next subscription or cancel. Please email us at least 72 hours in advance.

Do you offer discounts?Our subscription holders receive 10% off all purchases.

Do you do flowers for weddings and events?Yes! We have two services to choose from - our a la carte and full-service design for weddings and events. This option has no minimums and is available only in Raleigh-Durham. Our full-service option is for those looking for a comprehensive design proposal - including ceremony design, installation work, and custom arrangements. This option starts at $9,500 for weddings in the Raleigh-Durham region. Live further away? Our florists will travel to you! We offer full-service floral design for worldwide events starting at $15,000.

How far in advance should I place my flower order for my upcoming birthday, baby shower, wedding shower, etc.?The earlier, the better! If you know you have a special event coming up, please place your order at least five weeks in advance. This gives us time to source any extra unique blooms you've requested and coordinate delivery or pickup times with our drivers so your flowers arrive picture-perfect.

Do you do workshops?Yes! We love hosting workshops where we teach flower arranging 101 and wreath making! Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on when they are scheduled. We also love to bring our workshops to you for private parties and corporate events, either in person or remotely! For more information or to book, please complete our contact form.

How do I place an order?It's easy to order online! Complete our inquiry form, letting us know what you need, and someone from our team will let you know if we are available to create a custom order for you.

How can I order Pampas Grass?Complete our inquiry form, letting us know the details, such as color, bundle size, and date. We do keep a limited amount of colors and bundles immediately ready for shipping and pick up. Our pampas grass is hand-dyed in our studio and takes about two weeks for processing. We ship pampas grass nationwide and are available for pickup.

How can I cancel or modify my order?To cancel a scheduled order, send an email to hello@elan-house.com. Orders canceled or modified may be ineligible for a refund or store credit.

Can I make special requests?Élan House designs are all one of a kind! Each one is subject to flower availability and seasonality. While we can request specific color palettes, we reserve the right to substitute. That means we cannot guarantee any specific flowers or colors. To add certain requests for flower choices, allergies, or color preferences, please add your note in our "notes to florist" section when placing your order.
